MEET OUR HEADMISTRESS

Noor Lukreiza Abdullah

Fondly known as Teacher Jija

With a deep passion for education and a firm belief that every child deserves an environment where they can learn, grow and be nurtured, Noor Lukreiza Abdullah - fondly known as Teacher Jija - founded Husna Integrated Islamic School with a vision that goes beyond the traditional idea of schooling.

Teacher Jija holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UNIRAZAK), a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), and is currently pursuing a Master of Education (MeD) at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).

Her journey in education began through Teach For Malaysia, where she was selected as a Fellow of the 2013 cohort. She was posted to SMK Raja Lope Nor Rashid, where she spent three years teaching Bahasa Melayu and English.

That experience became one of the defining chapters of her life.

Teaching in a secondary school located within a fishing village gave her an opportunity to see education beyond textbooks, examinations and classrooms. She witnessed first-hand how a child's environment, family, teachers and wider community can profoundly shape their confidence, character and future.

It strengthened her belief that education is not merely about preparing children to pass exams - it is about preparing them for life.

Since then, Teacher Jija has continued to build her experience across different areas of education and entrepreneurship:

  • Trainee Consultant - &Samhoud
  • Teach For Malaysia Fellow, Cohort 2013 - SMK Raja Lope Nor Rashid
  • Academic Principal - Tadika As Saadah, 2016–present
  • Operator - Ilham Mukmin Playschool, 2018–2020
  • Founder - Imaan Bookstore, an online bookstore focused on educational and Islamic resources

These experiences have shaped her approach to education: combining academic development with character building, values, independence and a genuine love for learning.

More Than a School

For Teacher Jija, Husna was never meant to be just another school.

She envisions Husna as a community school - a place where teachers, parents, families and the wider community share responsibility for nurturing children.

There is an old saying: "It takes a village to raise a child."

Teacher Jija believes this is especially true in education.

A child's development does not happen only between 8.30am and 12.50pm, nor does it happen only inside a classroom. Children are shaped by the people they meet, the conversations they have, the values they see being practised and the community they grow up in.

Husna therefore seeks to build a community where parents are partners, teachers are mentors, and children are known, valued and nurtured as individuals.

It is a community where families can grow together, where children can learn from one another, and where education extends beyond academic achievement into faith, character, relationships, responsibility and service.

"We don't want to simply raise students. We want to raise a generation - together."

This is the heart of Teacher Jija's vision for Husna: a school built not only around children, but around the community that helps them become who they are meant to be.
